From August 5-11, 2024, the city of Blagoevgrad, Republic of Bulgaria, became the center of global mathematical excellence as the University College London and the American University of the Republic of Bulgaria jointly hosted the 31st International Mathematics Competition for University Students (IMC-2024). The event drew over 400 participants from 78 universities across 59 countries, including the delegation from Turkmenistan.
Representing our Motherland, students from the International University for the Humanities and Development, Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi, and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan actively competed among the world’s brightest minds.
IUHD students demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, achieving a remarkable tally of awards. Myratgeldi Annamuhammedov won the prestigious Gold Medal. His fellow IUHD students, Medine Odayeva and Nurmyrat Atayev, each earned Bronze Medals, while Dovletmyrat Esenov, Azymgeldi Shyhov, and Daniyar Emirkuliyev received encouraging prizes, underscoring their promising potential.
Turkmenistan’s overall performance at the IMC-2024 was impressive, with the nation’s students collectively earning 14 medals—3 Gold, 3 Silver, and 8 Bronze. This outstanding achievement is a testament to the educational excellence fostered by Turkmenistan’s institutions and the unwavering support from the state.
In the Revival of the New Era of a Powerful State, and under the visionary leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, the youth of Turkmenistan continue to fulfill the great trust placed in them with commendable achievements. As the country celebrates this year under the motto “Year of Ocean of Wisdom Magtymguly Pyragy”, these accomplishments further solidify the nation's standing in the global academic community.
