Description

Philosophy Club of IUHD is a student organization consisted of students who are interested in engaging in philosophical debates and discussions and in organizing events of philosophical interest to the wider University community.

The Club also seeks to foster and enhance the opportunities for interaction between philosophy faculty and students. It generally meets every week during the semester and everyone is welcome.

Motto: “Don’t explain your philosophy. Embody it!”

Purposes:

·       to encourage and foster critical thinking;

·       reflect dialogue between students to prove their arguments;

·       to engage philosophical topics, texts and a diversity of viewpoints.

Members: More than 15 from different faculties

Charter of the Club:

Philosophy Club has its own Charter that provides information about the membership of the Club, duties and obligations of the members, supervisor responsibilities, Club meetings and activities.

Membership:

Membership is open for all IUHD students. No prerequisite knowledge of philosophy is required. To become official member of the Philosophy Club the students need to attend the Club events and approach the team.

In addition to providing philosophical discussions the Club provides a platform for IUHD faculty, and other guests to express their ideas and research. Such faculty members and guests are deemed to be the honorary members.
